Cameron Wright
Chief Executive Officer / NBPA Certified Agent
Cameron founded Dark Horse Sports to run an agency the right way and help those that have been in his situation. As an NBPA-certified agent with degrees in marketing and finance, and a playing career on which he can draw from his own personal journey to understand and uniquely support our clients, Cameron is dedicated to personalized education, empowerment and support and has spent years combining his passions for basketball and business development. Dating back to grassroots, Cameron played AAU for the King James Shooting Stars where he was invited, and attended multiple national camps leading to McDonalds All-American Nominee and a feature on ESPN’s rise magazine when he became the all-time leading scorer in Benedictine High School history, where he was also Ohio Player of the Year, 3x all-state, and ranked among the nation’s top 100 prior to his commitment to the University of Pittsburgh. At Pitt, Cameron was voted team captain for two seasons, a 4x academic all-league honoree and was named ACC Skip Prosser Student Athlete of the Year in 2014. Cameron attended training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers and was assigned to the Canton Charge. In 2016, Cameron opted to play in Europe, where he averaged 17p, 16reb, 4a in two seasons in Czech Republic NBL.
Just as passionate about off-the-court success, Cameron’s own transition led him to an advisor position for a financial firm in Cleveland, before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Verus Team Management and Director of Player Acquisition where he coordinated NBA-style workouts, creating client-specific training and tailoring training schedules to meet the needs of high-level NBA clients. Appreciative of the opportunity but determined to positively impact this business for the betterment of the player, Cameron is grateful and excited to have the chance to share his knowledge and experience with future prospects to change the narrative on how athletes are truly being represented in this business.
